An engraved brass swan keeps watch over a hand-turned rosewood ballpoint pen.
The swan — neck curved like a question mark — is cast and engraved in brass, feather by feather. Beside it, a slender ballpoint pen turned from rosewood, warm in the hand and quietly precise on paper.
Together they make a small writing altar for a desk or hallway table; separately, they are two very good reasons to write things down by hand again.
